DOH reminds All Filipinos to Take Advantage of Nationwide Immunization against Measles

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Health (DOH) never ceases to remind the public to take advantage of the soon-to-be launched nationwide immunization against measles, a program designed to help keep all Filipino children safe from measles.

DOH Secretary Enrique Ona said that parents should not miss this given opportunity for their children to get vaccinated.

The nationwide immunization for measles will be given to children from 8-9 years old. The children can also be re-vaccinated in twenty-eight days after the last immunization.

The said nationwide program is a two-in-one injection wherein DOH also targets giving vaccines against German measles, which is regarded as a silent disease.

DOH considers this a big aid for parents to save Php 15,000 cost for a measles victim.

Moreover, the nationwide immunization of DOH also aimed to lessen the number of Filipino children who died from measles every year.
