Dipolog is the provincial capital of Zamboanga Del Norte in the Philippines. It is one of the many cities that you will find in the island of Mindanao. Rolling hills and the waters of the sea beautifully encompasses the city. North of Dipolog is Dapitan City, which is also another highly recommended place to visit.
Dipolog City claims two popular titles, first is being the Philippines' orchid city and second that of being the country's capital of bottled sardines. Wild orchids are abundant within the city's area. You will find that many households here will have orchids growing in the yards. Since fishing is also a huge industry in the city, the production of bottled sardines is also a strongly growing enterprise.
Breathtaking Nature
Another endearing place to visit, especially for nature lovers, is Barangay Cogon's Eco-Park. This is a reforestation area where various sorts of trees are grown and cared for. The Eco-Park is also home to different species of reptiles and birds. Mountaineers often pick the place as a great camping site. However, if you would just like to see the view then you can just lay back and relax in one of the picnic cottages.
Japanese Memorial Park
Found within Barangay Dicayas in the City of Dipolog, Japanese Memorial Park is a significant landmark that reminds people about the rich and colorful history of the place. This popular tourist attraction features a memorial that was established to commemorate the brave Japanese and Filipino soldiers who battled one another during World War II.
The 3,003 Steps to Linabo Peak
Many local and foreign tourists really love to witness and experience climbing the 3,003 Steps to Linabo Peak, which has become a very brilliant contributor to the booming state of tourism in Dipolog City. Upon reaching the top of this wonderful tourist attraction, the place offers guests a fascinating view of the blue seas, abundant plains, and clear skies within the area.
Cogon Eco-Park
Located at Barangay Cogon in Dipolog City, Cogon Eco-Park is a nice and refreshing tourist attraction where people can find different species of trees including Yemane, Teak, and Mahogany. This reforestation project also has other exciting tree varieties such as Rattan, Mayapis, Acacia, and Molave.
Sungkilaw Falls
Found at Barangay Diwan in Dipolog City, Sungkilaw Falls is an amazing sight that many local and foreign tourists really love to visit and explore. The local group called Subanen is helping the local government to maintain the beauty, cleanliness, and attractiveness of the entire area. To make the place more inviting for tourists, the local government is currently involved in projects that will build rooms and cottages within the area, especially for people who want to spend some more time at this beautiful and enchanting tourist attraction.
Dipolog Diving
Among spectacular and world-class diving havens in the Philippine Islands is found northwest of Zamboanga del Norte in Mindanao. Dipolog, a coastal City, is rich in white sand beachfronts, glistening blue seas, and revealing dive sites. Thus, the popular term 'Dipolog Diving.'
Dakak is famous with many foreign tourists and dive enthusiasts for its peculiar bay shape, pristine beaches, and wonderful undersea world. And Dipolog's Dakak area is just one among many sea treasures that the coastal city harbors. There are countless beautiful Dipolog diving areas that deserve mention here.
Transportation:
From Manila, you can take a flight straight to Dipolog or take a ferry boat ride that also goes straight to the place.
